Silas, affectionately called “Tom” by his family and childhood friends, was born on July 11, 1952 in Clinton, Massachusetts to Silas and Lillian (Thomas) Mason. A 1970 graduate of Clinton High School, he moved to Colorado to pursue a truck driving career and for the appeal of skiing. He lived in various cities in Colorado over the past 50 years and loved its breadth of beauty.

A 49ers fan, Silas avidly followed pro football. Free-spirited and fun-loving, he enjoyed darts, fishing, travel, Jimi Hendrix and especially his Coloradan friends: Jerry & Patty; Linda & Jim; and George. Throughout his adventurous life, he retained many memories. Sharing his stories made him sparkle. His charisma endeared him to many in Clinton MA and around Colorado.
