Silverio Carrillo Nunez was born June 20, 1941 and passed away with his family by his side on February 26, 2021.

Silverio is preceded in death by his parents Natividad Carrillo and Maria de Jesus Nunez, his son Manuel Nevarez and his grandson Arturo Carrillo. He is survived by his beloved wife of 57 years, Bertha Ojeda, his six children, Javier Carrillo (Margarita), Luz Carrillo, Jesus Carrillo (Luzelva Aguirre), Betty Carrillo (Luis Gallardo), Teresita Rivas (Jesus), Gregory Carrillo (Mora) and Mari Nevarez Robledo, nineteen grandkids and eleven great grandkids. The phrase, “They don’t make them like him no more” could have been written about him. He was an extremely respectful and respected man by all. Silverio spent his life working various trades in a multitude of states, but was always a farmer at heart.

Silverio spent a good portion of his life on a farm that he built from nothing, located in Samalayuca, Chihuahua. This ranch serving as the rich soil from where all of his grandchildren bloomed. Silverio was once asked, “What was your dream growing up?” To which he looked around his ranch and answered, “I’m living my dream.” Having the honor to know Silverio Carrillo meant you had many doors opened to you. Silverio had a heart of gold, anyone who knew him knew he would give the shirt off his back willingly and with a smile on his face, and not expect anything in return. He had so much love for all people. He made strangers his friends, and his friends his family.

Silverio loved spending time with his family, and always had endless stories to tell. All of the grandkids loved their grandpa to the moon and back. He had a nickname for each one of them and made sure the kids were happy by always coming, bearing gifts, specifically puppies. Each and every one of us has a multitude of stories that we could tell about Silverio, as his actions always served as teachings in our hearts. Silverio will be missed by many, but will continue to live an endless legacy through all of the people he had an impact on.
