Loving husband, father, and grandfather, Steven William Krug, has been welcomed home to Heaven. He passed away in Loveland, Colorado on Sunday, December 3, 2023. Steve was 52 years young.
Steve was born in Chicago, Illinois on December 7th, 1970 and was adopted by a wonderful family, Don and Donna Krug, at the age of six. As a kid, Steve loved shadowing his dad while he built their apartments. As he got older, he had the opportunity to work with Don on various construction jobs and in doing so, developed a strong work ethic. Every summer, the family vacationed near Sparta, Illinois with Donna’s family, and Steve was able to spend time with his cousins. Steve was close with his family and had a very special relationship with his younger brother, Donnie.
Steve met the love of his life way back in high school. He married Sheila on October 21, 1995 in Loveland. Together they raised three children. Steve worked hard to provide for his family. He always made sure they were happy and knew that they were loved. Family was the most important thing in Steve’s life. He instilled meaningful values in his children such as the value of hard work, the importance of caring for others, and always putting your family first. He loved his children dearly and supported them in all that they did.
Steve enjoyed fishing and camping. He was a big fan of the Chicago Bears (Da Bears) and liked all things 80s. More than anything else, he enjoyed his time with his family. Steve was a hardworking man who was strong in his faith. He always had a smile on his face. Steve was funny. He had a lighthearted sense of humor and a contagious laugh. He was also very kind and caring. He always put the needs of others before his own.
Steve had a heart of gold and the world was a better place while he was in it. His passing brings great heartache to his family, his friends, and all who knew him. He will truly be missed.
Steve will live on in the hearts and memories of his family. He leaves behind his wife of 28 years, Sheila, sons Matthew (Annie) and Christopher (Melinda), his daughter and best friend, Amanda, and granddaughters, his girls, Myka, Karli, Madelyn, and Hazel Grace. Steve is also survived by his brother Donnie Krug, siblings Kathy and Michael, Sheila’s parents, Ivan Griess and Carolyn Terry, brother-in-law Jamie Griess (Stephanie), sisters-in-law Ana Sronce (Drew) and Valerie Westbrook, Uncle Charles and cousins Mike, Kandi, and Kristi, as well as several nieces & nephews, many aunts, uncles, cousins & other extended family and friends. He was welcomed in Heaven by his parents and grandparents.
