Sue Andersen Ocken, age 79, of Broomfield, Colorado passed away peacefully at home on January 4, 2024 at 4pm. She was surrounded by her loving husband, Jim Ocken, and her two daughters, Cassie and Staci.
Sue grew up in Lamar, Colorado. She was a big sister to her brother, Ford Andersen. During her time in Lamar she found her calling working for a district judge. She met Jim in July of 1965, in Colorado Springs, at the Crazy Cat where they danced the night away. Sue worked as a legal secretary for the district attorney at the time. Within 6 months they were married. Soon to follow they welcomed Laura Sue Ocken who passed away at 3-months-old of SIDS. In 1968 Sue gave birth to a second daughter, Cassandra Ann. Nearly three years later another daughter was born, Staci Michelle, completing their family.
Sue will always be remembered as the most thoughtful and loving friend anyone could ask for. She treasured her family, friends, and grandchildren fiercely and would do anything for them. Sue was a loving and faithful servant of our Lord Jesus Christ. We are grateful she has been reunited in heaven with Laura Sue and family.
Sue is survived by her husband Jim, daughters Cassie and Staci (Mark), and her three grandchildren, Chase, Courtney, and Todd.
Services will be conducted at Rundus Funeral Home in Broomfield on January 13, 2024 at 2pm. Reception and celebration of life to follow at the Rossi home, Sue and Jim’s neighbor, 1266 Ironwood Place, Broomfield 80020.
