November 28, 1975 — December 16, 2023

Tammy Jo Parker Hunt gained her wings on Saturday, December 16, 2023. She blessed Tommy and Betty Smith with a loving daughter on November 28, 1975, while living in Fayetteville, Clayton County, Georgia. This vibrant little girl was a joyful gift. Unfortunately, she lost her mother at twelve but became a strong, intelligent, and obstinate young lady with a will and mind of her own. Being a girl raised in the South, Tammy could care for herself and had an untameable free spirit. Her fearless energy got her into more than a few tough times, but being diligent, she overcame anything with strength unimaginable. Being a grandmother gave her immense joy and pride; she spoke of them often with a smile that filled her face ear to ear. Tammy created a life of brilliance that was loved with her by her lifelong friend and soul mate, Mark. She loved Mark deeply with a bright light of eternal love, and he loved her with the fire of a million flames that Mark would never extinguish.

During surgery to help her feel better, an accident left her paralyzed from the mid-chest down. Mark stopped everything and became her full-time caregiver, and he was her ride-or-die. They shared many sights and trips without letting anyone control her. To start a fresh life on a new journey, the family they created with their friends and neighbors after they moved to Burlington is very close. Those bonds gave her and Mark the family and friends to overcome several adversities. She lived her life by being non-discriminatory, accepting, and not materialistic. Tammy was passionate about animals, all animals, but especially Llamas. Many had the pleasure of quickly becoming friends with this effervescent, fierce, but hilarious personality. She could be known for her magnificent, colorful vocabulary, but you will never find a more genuine and authentic person again. Tammy Hunt was a precious and rare gift to many. She will be missed by many.
