Thomas Roger Mathias “Junior”, peacefully went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, October 12th 2022 at the age of 89 in Loveland, CO.

Thomas was always proud of being born on Larimer Street in Denver and graduated from North High School. From there, he went directly into the Navy and while he was stationed in Rhode Island, he met his wife, Carol May Thimot. Tom and Carol were married for 68 years and had five children.

Tom worked for Western Electric and the Bell System for 38 years retiring as a Stationary Engineer in 1989. He was an avid fly fisherman, bodybuilder, hiker, and hunter. He loved to help people and tell them about his faith in Jesus. He was active in several churches as a Deacon and Greeter. Folks often said it was because of his smile that they kept coming back. He was loved by all and made an impact on many lives.

Tom and Carol spent their retirement years traveling throughout the western part of the United States. They had many adventures hiking, backpacking and rafting in 38 National Parks. They also enjoyed meeting new people and caravanning with friends.

Tom was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas Sr. and Faye; as well as his brothers, Richard and Jack; sister, Shirley; and his grandson, Zachary Mathias. He is survived by his wife, Carol; his brothers, Dave and Bob (Diane) Mathias; his five children, Pamela (Don) Cox, Larry (Christine) Mathias, David (Sandra) Mathias, Eric (Jamie) Mathias and Tanya (Frank) Goyette; seven grandchildren, Jessica (Thorsten) Ohrstrom Sandgren, Valerie Medina, Chayla (Chris) Campbell, Brandon (Tisha) Goyette, Kylen Mathias, Shaye Mathias and Dylan Mathias; and four great-grandchildren, Daniel Medina, Donovan Medina, Anna Ohrstrom Sandgren and Christopher Mathias.
