Thomas Guy “Tom” Gilbert
A memorial service for lifelong Lamar resident, Thomas Guy Gilbert, affectionately known to his family and friends as Tom, will be held at 10:00AM on Friday, June 30, 2023 at the Peacock Family Chapel with Reverend Kathy Leathers officiating. Inurnment with full military honors under the auspices of the local V.F.W. and American Legion Posts will follow at Fairmount Cemetery in the Veteran’s Section.
Tom was born on September 26, 1927 at Lamar, Colorado to Guy G. and Vivian (McClain) Gilbert and passed away on June 2, 2023 at his home in Lamar at the age of 95.
He is preceded in death by his wife Mary Ann Gilbert, his parents and sister Eleanor Gilbert.
Tom is survived by his children Alan Gilbert of Fort Lupton, CO and Karen (Randy) Akers of Castle Rock, CO; grandchildren Justin Gilbert, Megan Gilbert, Lindsay Gilbert, Travis (Jacque) Akers and Cassandra Freeman, great-grandchildren Anjelica Akers, Christian Akers, Gavin Hewitt and Isaac Hewitt and great-great-granddaughter Delilah Akers-Inglese. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, other family and a host of friends.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Lamar Area Hospice either direct or in care of the funeral home office.
