February 10, 1951 - August 02, 2021

Tuffy Tanner was welcomed into the arms of Jesus on August 2, 2021 at the age of 70.  Tuffy was a long time resident of Laramie, Wyoming.

Tuffy was born on February 10, 1951 to Harly Wayne and Clotilde Marisa (Mancino) Tanner in Frankfurt Germany.   Tuffy was raised internationally in a military family.  He had a long and fulfilling career as a social worker.  He most recently worked at the Cathedral Home in Laramie and for the State of Wyoming Family Services.  At one point he was recognized as the top social worker for the State of Wyoming.  He helped so many children and families in need and treated them like his own.  Tuffy was often greeted by former clients (kids) that he had worked with over the years and was always so happy to see them.  He touched many lives in his profession.  He was also greeted by many a four-legged animal.  There wasn't a dog that Tuffy didn't like and vice versa.  He had many dogs through his life, and he loved them all immensely.  Tuffy married his best friend, Susan Schafer Hall on February 18, 2010.

Tuffy was involved in many communities in Laramie and had wonderful friends in all of them.  He played on pool leagues and in pool tournaments for many years, Tuffy also enjoyed being a part of the music community, playing with many wonderful musicians through the years.  When Tuffy's health allowed, he spent hours on his motorcycle taking trips with family and friends.

Tuffy is survived by his best friend Susan Schafer Hall, a daughter, Kristin Woodward, two beautiful granddaughters, Elliana and Melia, brother Frank Tanner, sister Vittoria Parkes, nieces Marisa Breslin and Marlo Henry, and nephew Gabriel Tanner, great nephews Jackson Breslin, Patrick Henry and Andrew Henry and great niece Cecilia Breslin.

There will be a Celebration of Life for Tuffy on August 28, 2021 at 1:00pm at the Elks Club in Laramie Wyoming.
