Wanda Amelia Helen Johnson, 87, of Broomfield, Colorado, passed away at home on July 29, 2021. She was born to Polish immigrants, Vincent Gabron and Emilia Wierszylo Gabron, on March 29, 1934, in Newburgh, New York. She graduated from Newburgh Free Academy in 1952.

On October 3, 1960, she married R.C. (Ray) Johnson in Trenton, Georgia. Over the years, Wanda was the quintessential mother, to not only her own children, but to all the neighborhood kids too. Wanda was dedicated to her family. Because of her husband’s career, she had to uproot and organize moves from over a dozen houses. She was the epitome of selflessness and devotion. She was loving, practical, wise, compassionate, generous and hard-working. She enjoyed cooking, listening to music, volunteering, and laughing. She absolutely loved being a mother and grandmother.

Wanda is survived by her children, Alicia Johnson, Stephen (Laura) Johnson, Stacey Showalter, Thomas Johnson and Michael Johnson. She is also survived by grandchildren Gia, Haley, Emmalie, Britton, Logan, Landon and Legacy; in addition to 8 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

She is predeceased by her parents, husband, son Scott Johnson, daughter Karen Johnson, granddaughter Legend A.M. Johnson, and is the last of her siblings: Mitchell Gabron, Frances Morris, Helen Krantz, Mary Wakefield, Gregory Gabron, Lucia Cusa, Edward Gabron and Valerie Gabron.

You are my sunshine…
