William Dean Wagner (known as Dean) was born July 22, 1953 and died on December 12, 2023.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter William Wagner and Wahnita Gertrude Wooden-Wagner, brother Donald Webster Wagner, his first wife, Susan Jane Widmer-Wagner, and his second wife, Emma Kay Widmer-Wagner.
He is survived by his sisters, Barbara Jean Wagner-Connelly and Judy Ann Wagner-Boguszewicz, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Dean graduated from Fairview High School, Boulder, Colorado in 1972 and joined the United States Navy.
After his service in the Navy, he was hired by Hewlett-Packard in the electronics manufacturing field. After 20 years and an early retirement from there, he joined Crete Carriers as an over-the-road truck driver. Dean received numerous awards over the next 20 years for excellence in driving an 18-wheeler.
During his time on the road, he experienced the beauty of all 48 lower states and upon his retirement from Crete he claimed over 2 million miles traveled.
Dean was an excellent crafter of models, and he built five magnificent ships, one of them being the famous Cutty Sark and another being the Sovereign of the Seas. He was building his sixth ship when he died.
Dean was a loving, caring, gentle giant with a witty sense of humor who will be dearly missed by those who loved him.
He was also an avid dog lover and Joey, his Australian shepherd, was the joy of his life.
