William “Bill” Halsey passed away peacefully in his sleep the morning of October 1st, 2020 after fighting a long illness in Loveland, Colorado. He was 69 years old.
Bill was born on January 21st, 1951 in Albuquerque, New Mexico to John and Clarice Halsey. He grew up in Lafayette, Colorado and spent most of his life in Boulder County. He worked for over 30 years in quality control management for Centerline Circuits and other manufacturing companies in the area.
Bill was very active in Alcoholics Anonymous and Alanon and was able to celebrate 32 years of sobriety. He cared very deeply for others and his humble mentorship helped innumerable individuals as he worked the program everyday and gave his undying support to anyone who was needing help and guidance in their sobriety. Bill’s kind nature and sense of humor brought an abundance of long lasting friendships throughout his lifetime.
Bill had dedicated several years of his life as a martial artist practicing the art of KunTao Silat under renowned and master trainers. He had fond memories of getting to spar with boxing champs and movie actors. He showed the same kind of passion and dedication to martial arts as he did with his sobriety and caring for his loved ones.
Bill’s greatest joy was his time spent with family, and he adored his granddaughters more than anything. Anyone who spent time with Bill would have fond memories of sharing a bowl of ice cream and having many laughs together. Even through tough times, he always found the good in everything and everyone.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents, John and Clarice Halsey, brother John Fauerbauch, and sisters Freda Distefano and Jayne Larkin. He is survived by his daughter Kaitlynn Hermanson (Loren), granddaughters Vesper and Dagny, step-daughter Amy Jacques, step-son Robert Bolstad, as well as his many extended family members and dear friends.
