1943 - 2021

Wilma was born Wilma Maude Kipp in Yuma, Colorado on July 1, 1943 to Frank and Ella (Johnston) Kipp. She passed away Tuesday, September 14th, 2021 with her family by her side. She was raised on the family homestead North of Yuma. In her youth, Wilma was active in 4-H and showed milking short horns. She was also active in FFA. After high school, she attended beauty school.

On February 23, 1964, Wilma and Harold Miller were united in marriage in Yuma, Colorado. Blessing this union were four children, Gerald, Raynette, Surene and Kip. Wilma loved being a mother to her children. She was an excellent seamstress. Her skills were put to the test when she sewed all the bridesmaids’ dresses for her daughter Raynette’s wedding and also daughter Surene’s wedding dress. She enjoyed watching Gerald play football and helping Kip with his 4-H projects. Wilma had many jobs while raising her kids. She drove the school bus for the Kiowa school district while working at the Kiowa Superette. She worked there for many years before going to work at Wal-Mart. After her children were grown and married, grandbabies started arriving, Brandon, Starla, Ryan, Austin, Lori, Michaelynn, Ella and Emily.

The kids were the apple of Wilma and Harold’s eye. When schedules allowed, they would attend as many of the kids’ activities as they could. To add to Wilma’s joy, great grandbabies started to arrive, Burgundi, Savanah, and Kasen. Two new babies will be arriving soon. Wilma loved pictures. Her living room walls were filled to the brim with family pictures. She would always be after Kip for updated pictures of the kids doing their various activities or just being cute. Wilma was famous with her family for always having a batch or two of cookies when we came to visit. Her pumpkin bread was always in demand. Christmas was her favorite holiday. Starla and Kip would always argue over the cornflake wreaths she would make, so she made enough both of them. Popcorn balls were always a favorite. Wilma always made the holiday special for all of us.

Wilma is survived by her husband of 57 years, Harold, sons Gerald and Kip (Denise), daughter Surene (Faron), and son-in law John Douglas, sisters, Irene and Lavina, and brother Gerald, also survived by her grandchildren and great- grandchildren.
