Wretha Trolene Scott, known to everyone as Trolene, was born on a farm in Martinsville, Missouri on May 18, 1920 and passed away peacefully on September 6, 2020. She spent her childhood on the farm in Missouri where her family grew corn and beans and raised cattle and pigs. In 1944, she married her husband, Wilburn and they farmed in Missouri until 1961, when they relocated to Loveland to be near her sister, Veta Lois Swartz and parents. Wilburn worked with Veta Lois at Swartz Wrecking and Salvage and Trolene raised their children.

Trolene also was a small business owner and started a flower shop, a beauty salon, and a green stamp damaged freight store in the little shop next to their home. Her passion was painting and she painted flowers, especially roses, and nature scenes on canvas and porcelain.

Trolene is preceded in death by her husband, who passed away in 2000; her sister Veta Lois, who died in 2017 at age 99; her son, Randall and his wife, Theresa Ramirez Scott; her parents, Troley Wiley and Jennie Utilla (Glenn) Wiley. She is survived by her daughter, Rhonda Johnston (Gene); her grandchildren Christopher Scott (Susan – deceased), Jonathon Scott (Lana) and Jennifer (May) Wuolle (Jason); numerous great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.

Viewing will be held on Thursday, September 10 from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Resthaven Funeral Home, 8426 South Highway 287, Ft. Collins, Colorado. A brief service honoring Trolene will be held at Resthaven on Friday, September 11, at 11:00 am, followed by internment at 11:30 am in Resthaven Memory Gardens.
