Abby Driscoll: Mike Foote is the Most Qualified Choice for Boulder County District Attorney

Who is best qualified to be Boulder County’s next District Attorney? It should be someone who knows the office, its procedures, and its responsibilities very well, from the inside. Mike Foote fits that description best.

Who is best qualified to be Boulder County’s next District Attorney? It should be someone who knows the office, its procedures, and its responsibilities very well, from the inside. Mike Foote fits that description best.

Mike worked in the office as a Deputy District Attorney for 14 years. Imagine how much knowledge of an office you pick up in 14 years of being on the job, day in and day out.  Not just knowledge of the formal procedures, but the kind of knowledge you get only by working in an office for a long time: knowing the people and the office culture, knowing what works best and what doesn’t in any particular situation.

Being a successful executive and leader often depends on intuition, having a real feel for the job. It’s the kind of thing that comes from experience. It takes time to develop. Mike is the only candidate for D.A. who has had that time and that experience in the Boulder office.

Being a successful D.A. also depends on knowing the county you are serving. Mike has lived in Boulder County for nearly 20 years. In addition to his 14 years as a Deputy District Attorney, he has been a State Legislator here for six years. In that job he has represented thousands of us, gotten to know us personally, heard our concerns and responded to them.

No other candidate for D.A. can come close to matching Mike Foote’s record of experience in the D.A.’s office. That’s one good reason I’ll be voting for him in the primary election.
