Tim Waters; Good for Ward 1, Good for Longmont

On February 27, Ward 1 voters will select a City Council representative who will serve all Longmont residents. After reading recent letters to the editor, I want to remind all voters that Council members are policy makers, not fund raisers. Successful policy makers have vision, courage and leadership skills. These words clearly describe Tim Waters. Want to know about Tim’s leadership? Go to his website: timwatersforward1.com and read his impressive professional work experiences. Want to know where Tim stands on the critical issues facing Ward 1 and the larger community? Go to his website. There you will also see how Tim plans to build bridges with the community and fellow council members. I have diligently sought similar detailed information from Tim’s opponents, but it is not easily accessible, if it exists at all. In my view, Tim’s willingness to clearly define issues and his positions on them shows vision and courage and demonstrates the type of leadership we need on the City Council.

Josh Goldberg appears to be Tim’s major opponent. I have known Josh for many years. I have known Tim for nearly forty years. I like them both. However, this election is about vision, courage and leadership. In these areas, Tim Waters is the superior choice. I believe one reason Tim is superior can be found in minutes of Planning and Zoning Commission meetings since Josh was appointed. The minutes do not have any indication that Josh has exhibited the necessary leadership or philosophy we need from a future Ward 1 Council member. In minutes I read, Josh never once demonstrated concern for traffic congestion or affordable housing when acting on development applications.

Time for Tim. Vote Tim Waters for Ward 1.
