I have an idea. We are all going through troubling times and stressful situations. But soon there is going to be a massive government stimulus given to almost every taxpayer in America. I am aware of many people who definitely need additional financial help at this time to help them get through this time of layoffs, business closings, and medical issues. But fortunately, I am retired and have a steady, secure income whereas others do not. Some of my friends are still employed in businesses or government where they continue to be paid and have work to do. However, we are all going to get some sort of assistance during these times. It would have been a nightmare for the federal government to figure out who might actually have the greatest need and get the money directly to those people, and such a decision would have taken too much time when people need this help now. May I suggest how we, the people might be the ones to make some more equity in this stimulus distribution where for those who are like me and have stable financial resources to get us through these times, that we find someone or some local organization to whom we can donate our portion of the stimulus money. Many of our fellow Longmonters are suffering financially right now to where they might have to lose their homes, cars, or even other necessities. Maybe those of us who have the resources might spread that government money directly to someone else. I am.
