As a former a mayor of Longmont, I served with a number of fine council members. One of the most thoughtful, caring and insightful was Jeff Moore. That is why I am endorsing Jeff in his bid for City Council At-Large in the upcoming election.
As we look for solutions to address the impacts of growth and development, affordable housing, transportation, homelessness and climate change, we need someone like Jeff to make the pragmatic decisions necessary to protect our community and quality of life. Jeff will continue to protect our environment as an overarching goal on every issue Council will face. As an example, as Chair of his HOA an Environmental Policy was developed that is an exemplary example of what others should do to protect and enhance our natural environment locally. While on Council, Jeff proposed a resolution to adopt policies that protect pollinators in our community. These are just a few examples of his commitment to protecting our environment.
Jeff always uses his analytical skills to examine data and make decisions based on facts, not emotion. His training as an engineer in looking at the complexities of today's problems will be an asset to our community and beyond. This is evidenced by his past service as the Chair on the National League of Cities ' Information Technology and Communications policy committee and as a member of the NLC's Board of Directors. I'm sure they will be glad to have him back, too!
Jeff Moore is a person of action, not just rhetoric. He does the hard work to find and implement solutions rather than just taking about the problems. We need him on City Council and I hope you will join me in voting Jeff Moore for City Council At Large.
