Opinion: Ruby Bowman-- Vote for Joan Peck

I was appalled when I saw the smear ad in the Times Call (October 20), attacking Joan Peck, a sitting council member and a candidate for re-election.

I was appalled when I saw the smear ad in the Times Call (October 20), attacking Joan Peck, a sitting council member and a candidate for re-election. The ad was paid for by so-called pillars of the Longmont community, which include former mayors and sitting council member Bonnie Finley. This ad smells of desperation.

Apparently the old guard want to hold back the inevitable tide of
sustainable change that is coming to Longmont. I'm sure their futile attempt to influence voters using dirty tactics will backfire. The only consequence of their actions will be to diminish the reputation of our town and the people who live here.

Joan Peck has represented Longmont with integrity in a dignified and respectful manner. Please join me in voting for Joan Peck, an influential voice for the people on city council.
