Pat Davis: Tim Waters believes in Longmont

For longer than I care to admit, I’ve helped organize canvassing and

promotions for local political candidates.

When I met Tim Waters, he was a volunteer. He was cheerful, humble, and a

hard and willing worker. His humility shows in the volunteer work he does

here in Longmont. He helps out at Ute Creek Golf Course, giving directions

and turning golf carts around. He tutors grade school children who need

help after school. He takes that educational assignment every bit as

seriously as he does the much larger matters that I later learned he is and

has been involved with.

It was not until Tim became a candidate for City Council himself that I saw

the other side of Tim. He is a strong leader. While most first-time

candidates are unsure of themselves, Tim is not. He is gracious and

grateful, accepting the help of our little group, but firmly in charge. Now

that I have learned more about his many accomplishments, I can clearly see

that he will be an outstanding council member representing Ward 1.

I urge everyone to visit Tim’s Facebook Page (or search Facebook for

timwatersforward1) and watch the video posted there about creating the

Greeley Dream Team. That program is still operating today. I can’t imagine

how many students are High School and College graduates, because of Tim’s

vision and the people he inspired to believe.

We need Tim Waters on our city council. He believes in Longmont.

Pat Davis.
