Boulder County small businesses hurt by the COVID-19 pandemic may be eligible for up to $500 worth of personal protective equipment, cleaning supplies and sanitizers, and $500 of to-go food containers under a new program announced Tuesday by Boulder County commissioners.

The COVID-19 care packages will be available to eligible small businesses in towns, cities and unincorporated areas in the county, according to a news release.

Funding for the project is being provided through the federal Coronavirus Relief Fund, according to the release.

Commissioners “recognize the key role small businesses play in our county, including providing employment opportunities, keeping more dollars in our local economy, and strengthening the character and unique identity of our communities,” the release stated.
