Boulder County Public Health will launch a weekly COVID-19 update at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday.

The updates, which will take place every Wednesday, are aimed at ensuring residents have "the information they need to stay safe and healthy and have the opportunity to ask questions about COVID-19," according to a news release.

“Information changes rapidly in this pandemic,” Jeff Zayach, Boulder County Public Health executive director, stated in the release. “We hope these regular updates will help community members feel more informed about our county’s status each week, as well as give residents an opportunity to ask questions.”

The first update will include information about the local and state COVID-19 outlook from Zayach, and an overview of COVID-19 vaccine distribution plans for Colorado from Boulder County Public Health Communicable Disease and Emergency Management Division Manager Indira Gujral. Future sessions will include similar status updates as well as timely topics or areas of concern, according to the release.

Residents can join the weekly event online or by phone at  3:30 p.m. Wednesdays, with the update slated to begin at 3:40 p.m. Capacity is limited to 500 participants. Spanish interpretation will be available. The update also will be livestreamed on YouTube.
