State public health officials for many months have supplied daily data updates about COVID-19 in the state. The data include infection rates, number of deaths, number of hospitalizations and other statistics that enable residents to track the spread of the coronavirus.
Now those officials are providing a similar resource for vaccinations.
The Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment on Dec. 18 launched a dashboard for vaccination data. The dashboard went live at 4 p.m. Friday, and it will be updated every day at 4 p.m. Its first statistics: The state has administered 12,123 doses of vaccine so far.
Colorado received its first shipment of the Pfizer vaccine on Dec. 14, after the Food and Drug Administration granted emergency use authorization three days earlier. The state received 46,800 doses of the Pfizer vaccine. It had expected to receive more than 56,000 doses of the vaccine in a second shipment, but the delivery was reduced to 39,780, according to the Denver Post.
Colorado expects to receive 96,000 doses of a vaccine developed by Moderna, pending authorization for that manufacturer’s vaccine.
The state is distributing vaccines according to phases it released last week. First in line to be inoculated are health care workers who have direct contact with COVID-19 patients and long-term care facility residents and staff.
