Hit and run leaves motorcyclist in hospital

The motorcyclist is expected to survive injuries.

Around 11:35 p.m. yesterday, an unidentified car crashed into a motorcycle then fled the scene.

The motorcyclist suffered serious injuries and was taken to a nearby hospital by first responders. The individual is expected to survive the injuries.

The incident occurred at the intersection of Ken Pratt and S. Hover Street late yesterday night.

At this time, very little is known about the sedan or its driver. Police guess that the plates on the sedan are from Florida or possibly Georgia. "A possible plate of INY999 was provided but so far officers have been unable to locate a matching vehicle," according to a news release from Longmont Public Safety.

Police are asking the public to contribute any information by contacting Officer Tyler Bartlett at 303-774-4698 or the Longmont Emergency Communications Center (LECC) at (303)651-8501.
