A man was assaulted and robbed Tuesday in Longmont, and his attackers remain at large, police said.

A police officer was called to the 1700 block of Main Street around 4:15 a.m. after a report of the assault in progress, said Longmont Police Department spokesperson Robin Ericson.

The man said he told two men to stop hitting a woman, and the two then attacked him and took money that fell out of his pocket, Ericson said. The suspects were accusing the woman of stealing. All three left before the officer arrived, and the officer wasn’t able to find them.

Anyone with video surveillance or any witnesses are asked to call the police department at 303-651-8555 and reference report #23-2811.
