On behalf of Summit Housing Group and its two projects in Boulder County, Centennial Park Apartments in Longmont and Lyons Valley Townhomes in Lyons, I fully support Boulder Counties BALLOT ISSUE 1B Affordable Housing Tax Extension and Revenue Change.

Summit Housing Group has been active in Boulder County since 2013 developing and looking to expand options for affordable housing.  We believe this ballot initiative will greatly benefit the community and provide essential assistance to help create additional affordable housing options in the community.

Currently, over 16,000 households in Boulder County spend more than half their income on rent which is not sustainable. Ballot Issue 1B is vital in addressing this critical issue.  Not only that, but this will also be the first sustainable funding source for housing in Boulder County and will provide developers with more options and funding to increase the affordable housing stock in Boulder County.

We are enthusiastic about the potential of Ballot Issue 1B to improve the lives of families who are rent overburdened in Boulder County, and we wholeheartedly support Ballot Issue 1B and believe anyone who wants to help increase affordable housing options in Boulder County should too.

Best regards,

Samuel Long
