I endorse Mayor Joan Peck for another term as our Mayor of Longmont.

While serving as our mayor, Joan has striven to have council that can agree or disagree without judgment and bullying. I have been to a few council meetings and I have not heard any bullying or judgments.

Joan is passionate about homeless and unhoused people. Joan meets frequently with the faith committee for insight. Joan has conversations about the need for wrap-around services in housing which the city will provide in the Zinnia project.

Joan also worked the RTD and our transportation department for a partnership program resulting in a $400,000 grant to pursue shared ride transportation for the city. Joan made a motion to give the LHA board $40,000 from the city council contingency fund to provide transit trips for shopping days for LHS residents.

Joan also held the mayor's youth million-dollar summit for ideas on how to spend the Broncos stadium tax dollars. Joan is a big supporter of a nonprofit organization, “Longmont Latinx Voices” and at-risk youths to be able to participate in sports or whatever activities they so desire. LLV just wants to make it an even playing field.

Those are some of the reasons why I am endorsing Joan Peck for a 2nd term as our mayor of Longmont.
