As a long-time resident of a working class duplex neighborhood in NW Longmont, I know that my neighbors and I use many city services and programs.  We access the senior center, mental health programs, and youth recreation, along with our reliance on City utilities, public safety and transportation. Because she has served us so well in her first term,  I am writing with my enthusiastic support of incumbent Ward 3 City Council Member Susie Hildago-Fahring.

Among Susie's many accomplishments and priorities, here's a few that really matter to me, my family, and my neighbors.

Susie knows that affordable housing matters as we all hope our kids and elders can live and thrive in Longmont. She advocates for a Attainable Housing Fund so working class folks can buy houses, and  worked to restructure the Longmont Housing Authority, which broke ground on the Zinnia Project which provides permanent supportive housing for 55 vulnerable members of our community.

Susie is committed to a quality of life and economic vitality that means a Longmont where all can thrive. She served on the regional steering committee to establish a local minimum to address the gap between wages and cost of living, AND she collaborates with the small business community. Key environmental organizations have endorsed Susie for her commitments to rethinking transportation, regional composting to meet zero-waste, goals, and improved air quality, and holding oil and gas industry accountable.

Community Mental Wellness  is important to Susie, as it is to me.  She works to strengthen mental health and and addition responses, including leadership of our CORE/LEAD co-responders which mean crisis responses include mental health and medical professionals. And Susie knows that community wellness means a strong social infrastructure, so she represents us on the Youth Council , Library, and Museum advisory boards.

It matters to me and folks like my neighbors to have Susie's working class representation on city council.  It matters to all of Longmont to have Susie on council as a coalition-builder who is proactive and committed to a strong community for all. Please vote to re-elect incumbent Ward 3 City Council Member Susie Hidalgo-Fahring.
