St. Nix closed its Longmont Main Street location in February, but the toy shop plans to return soon to the city.

A Longmont toy store is planning its return just months after a bad check forced the owners to close its brick-and-mortar location.

St. Nix Collectibles, Toys and Antiques announced on their website that they have been approved for a new space less than two months after leaving their location in Longmont’s downtown at 337 Main Street. The small business continues to operate online.

“We love you all and thank you so much for your support,” the announcement read.

Owner Virginia Miskel said in an email Monday that they are still too early in the process to announce the location or set a grand re-opening date, but plan to announce where and when they will be coming back to Longmont as soon as possible.

The toy store closed in February after owners said $50,000 worth of inventory was purchased using a bad check in early December. While the majority of the inventory was recovered a few weeks later, losing out on business during the busiest month of year left the small business unable to pay rent.
