The world of music and event production is an exhilarating one, filled with creativity, passion and an unwavering commitment to delivering unforgettable experiences. Colorado Immersive Events is now stepping into the spotlight as a new event-planning business working with more than just the Front Range.

With her wealth of experience in the industry, Mary Mead’s now leading the charge for change through her venture, Colorado Immersive Events, and her vision is clear: to create events that not only bring joy to patrons but also prioritize the well-being and fair treatment of all involved.

With over 15 years of experience in the industry, Mead’s career has taken her to many places, from the vibrant music scenes of Boulder and Denver to festivals and events as far-flung as Mexico and New York City.

Mead’s expertise lies in artist relations, a critical role in the event industry that often goes unnoticed. She described her work as “taking care of the artist’s needs, whether it be transportation or basically becoming their assistant.” It’s a multifaceted role that involves everything from picking up drum heads to recreating a last-minute rum ham feast from the popular TV show “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia.”

However, Mead’s experience in the industry has not been without its challenges.

“They [event organizers] don’t pay well, they don’t really give you the break time you deserve and they don’t treat you with the respect you deserve,” Mead said.

This disparity in treatment and the grueling hours led Mead to question the status quo and envision a different path for herself and others in the industry. This vision eventually culminated in the creation of Colorado Immersive Events, Mead’s brainchild that aims to set a better example for the industry by placing a strong emphasis on respect, integrity and the well-being of all those involved, from staff to artists.

In contrast to the industry, Mead’s company offers regular food breaks and reasonable working hours. It’s a rare and refreshing approach that hopes to set Colorado Immersive Events apart in the industry.

Its first major event, Leftoween, it will be team up with Left Hand Brewery, and the event promises to be a joyful showcase of art, music and creativity. The event features daily live music performances by local bands, live painters and a graffiti wall that invites the community to contribute. A unique addition is the Witches Healer’s Corner, where attendees can explore reiki, tarot readings and oracle readings for a touch of mysticism.

“They’re amazing, they’re so friendly,” Mead expressed her excitement about the partnership with Left Hand Brewery and added, “We really wanted to create this fun Halloween immersive event that supports all local artists, small businesses, musicians and vendors.”

While Leftoween is their debut large-scale event, Colorado Immersive Events envisions a future filled with diverse celebrations and isn’t limited to festivals and large events. Whether it’s a family-friendly Halloween extravaganza or an adult-themed celebration, the company is ready to customize its services to bring its clients’ visions to life.

“We’re hoping to do holiday events in the future, including Valentine’s Day. We want to have events that are inclusive to all,” Mead said. “We could do private parties, corporate events, and more. We can custom-make the event to fit the client’s needs, whether it’s a unicorn-themed child’s party or a grand music and art extravaganza.”

Leftoween is set to be a two-day extravaganza at Left Hand Brewery’s eerie Beer Garden on October 21 and 22, from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., and is suitable for all ages.
