High Country Bank welcomed Sylvia Veltri as its new chief operating officer last week.

Veltri joined the bank in 2021 with over a decade of experience in the banking industry. She was promoted to COO to fill a vacancy left by current Chief Executive Officer Niki Stotler.

“Sylvia comes with remarkable leadership skills, dedication to professionalism, higher education, and experience in banking. Sylvia also recognizes the importance of small business and how important a small businesses’ relationship is with their bank. She understands HCB’s dedication to our communities and places value on our philanthropic efforts,” Stotler said.

High Country Bank operates branches in Buena Vista, Salida, Cañon City and Longmont.

“I am excited to be part of a bank I grew up with, a bank that helped me achieve business and personal goals. High Country Bank was able to help me develop a successful business when larger banks could not. This is a sentiment our customers can share with me, and it is philosophically what I want to continue to offer to our communities,” Veltri said.

Veltri hopes to encourage collaboration and creative thinking to bring further success to the bank. She recognizes the contributions all the employee makes to the organization and wants to listen to staff, customers and the community to build a better bank, she said.
