One in three respondents to the Longmont Business Climate Study list accessibility to affordable housing for their employees as a top concern, states the Longmont Chamber of Commerce.

This is only a preliminary statistic as only 150 Longmont businesses have responded to the Chamber’s survey. But there is still time.

The survey is open to all Longmont businesses — not just Chamber members.

The Longmont Chamber is hoping to gain “insight into the challenges of operating a business as well as opportunities for business growth,” a news release from the Chamber states.

So far, results indicate that inflation, cost of employee benefits, availability of skilled labor and the regulatory climate are growing concerns in the Longmont area.

Preliminary and final results will be used to advocate for local businesses with local, state and federal leaders. The Chamber also plans to create new educational opportunities for local businesses that want help navigating these tough issues.

“I would like to ask for a few minutes of your time to reply to the survey. Your answers will continue to make Longmont a great place to do business,” said Scott Cook, executive director of the Chamber, in a news release.

The deadline for the survey is June 2.
