Longmont Farmers Market opens for the season

The market runs through November

The Longmont Farmers Market opened for the season today and patrons got an early start to searching out some of their favorite things.

The farmers market, located at the Boulder County Fairgrounds, runs from the first weekend in April through Nov. 19.

It is early in the season, so many stops had only a few options but all were excited to see the faces of patrons strolling by.

Elaine Waterman, executive director of the Firehouse Arts Center, hosted a crafting table for children. At today's market, kids could put together a small chick. For parents on the go or children who didn't want to do the project right away, Waterman offered to-go crafts that could be constructed later.

The market is open each Saturday from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.
