Longmont Public Media is a media makerspace that launched in 2020. The space is a creative hub, media production facility, content incubator and content distribution center. On Saturday, the media facility will host its first open house.

LPM invites anyone interested in media from video, audio, photography and more to explore its video production studio, podcast studio and state-of-the-art equipment. The nonprofit also offers an array of classes and tutorials for content creators to learn new skills and to share their knowledge with other likeminded individuals.

The event runs from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 457 Fourth Ave.

Members and creators from the LPM community will demonstrate how easy it is to modify the facility’s studios to create content, whether a beginner or a professional, said Sergio Angeles, executive director of LPM.

Volunteers will showcase LPM’s new greenscreen in the main studio. Others will be on hand to demonstrate LPM’s podcast studio and how people can create their own.

“We hope people can see how easy it is to create content, how a place like this is just in their own backyard, here in Longmont, and that it is friendly toward beginners all the way to professionals,” Angeles said. “We are here for the community to help them with any media questions or needs.”

LPM will also host an engagement zone where visitors can connect with current members and explore the vibrant LPM community.

“We are excited to host our first open house and hope to continue to do these regularly,” Angeles said.
