The Boulder County Active Shooter Task Force is conducting a planned active threat training exercise on August 25, 26, 27, and 29 with partner agencies. This is occurring in and around Flatirons Community Church at 355 South Broulder Road.
There will be a large presence of emergency vehicles and first responders while the task force is conducting the training exercise. People can expect to see law enforcement, fire, EMS, and dispatch personnel near the area of Flatirons Community Church and near Waneka Parkway and S. Public Road.
The Boulder County Sheriff’s Office (BCSO) posted the update on Facebook so that community members can be aware of the increased activity by first responders in the area. “This is a planned exercise and not a real emergency,” BCSO wrote, and told people to avoid calling 911 in relation to the training exercise being conducted in the area. BCSO said to call 911 if there appears to be a real emergency unrelated to the training exercise.
“We encourage you to share this information with friends, neighbors, and businesses who may live or work in the area so they are aware of the training activity,” BCSO shared on Facebook. “Thank you for your cooperation and support as Boulder County agencies work together to strengthen preparedness and enhance community safety.”
