As start of new month nears, Longmont Museum announces new Discovery Days lineup

Discovery Days encourages children ages 2 to 6 and their caregivers to learn together through engaging hands-on activities with monthly at-home craft kit purchases and an invitation to join live interactive sessions in a secure Zoom meeting room.

The change of the calendar to March means there will be a new slate of programs in the Longmont Museum's' virtual Discovery Days program.

The Discovery Days encourages children ages 2 to 6 and their caregivers to learn together through engaging hands-on activities with monthly at-home craft kit purchases and an invitation to join live interactive sessions in a secure Zoom meeting room. Each day will include a story and the creation of a different project.

Crafting and storytime sessions are from 10 to 10:30 a.m. and 11 to 11:30 a.m. Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. Participation in crafting and storytime sessions is optional and free with the purchase of a monthly craft kit. Kits sell out quickly, according to an email newsletter from the museum. 

March craft kits cost $27 or $24 museum members. Planned activities are:

March 3-5: Animals in Africa
March 10-12: Unicorns, Dragons & Mermaids
March 17-19: Teddy Bear Picnic
 
Kits for April crafts also can be purchased for $45, $40 museum members. The lineup for April is:
Mar 31-Apr 2: Springtime
April 7-9: Lizards, Frogs, & Reptiles
April14-16: Bugs, Bugs, Bugs!
April 21-23: Earth Day
Apriul 28-30: Mother’s & Father’s Day
