Cheyenne, a 2 1/2 year-old Catahoula mix.

In a Facebook post on Saturday, the Boulder County Sheriff's Office asked locals to be on the watch for a pet who ran away after being involved in a car crash.

The crash happened at the intersection of Hwy 287 and Hwy 52 on June 25.

The dog, Cheyenne, a 2 1/2 year-old Catahoula mix, was ejected from the car and seen running southbound in farm fields from Lookout Road and Hwy 287, according to the post.

Cheyenne is reported to be skittish around people normally but is expected to be more so after the crash, according to the post. He has a micro chip to help those who may find him connect him with his family.

Anyone with information about the dog is encouraged to call the Boulder County Sheriff's Office non-emergency dispatch number at 303-441-4444.
