Fire crews put down grass fire at water treatment plant

 

Fire crews Monday afternoon quickly quelled a small grass fire on the property of the Nelson Flanders Water Treatment Plan in the 1300 Block of N. 53rd St.

Crews responded to a report of a lawn mower on fire on the property about 12:32 p.m. The fire spread onto the grass and was about 30 feet by 30 feet in size, according to a Boulder County news release.

Hygiene Fire Protection District, Lyon Fire Protection District, Boulder County Wildland Fire Crew and Left Hand Fire Protection District arrived on the scene and were able to contain and extinguish the fire with any other fire resources needed, the news release states. No structures were damaged and no injuries were reported.
