The unemployment rate for Colorado remained at 3.3% in November according to the the Colorado Department of Labor and Employment. Boulder County’s unemployment rate came in at 2.8%.
Around 68% of Colorado’s labor force worked in November. This was an increase of 2,700 more participants than in October. Colorado’s participation rate exceeded the national average at 62.8% for November.
An employer survey conducted by the CDLE showed a decrease of 700 nonfarm jobs from October to November. The private sector also decreased jobs by 2,100 over the same period, however, the government increased the number of jobs by 1,400.
The manufacturing, trade, transportation and utility sectors lost the most jobs with a decrease of 1,600 and 1,500 respectively.
Overall, Colorado’s yearly job growth rate was 1.1% which lagged behind the U.S. rate of 1.8%.
