On Thursday, July 20, 2023, the Colorado Department of State will host a rulemaking hearing. During the hearing, all members of the public will have an opportunity to comment on proposed amendments to Colorado Department of State Campaign & Political Finance Rules (8 CCR 1505-6). The hearing will begin at 1:00 p.m. and will conclude at the end of public comment, which will conclude no later than 5:00 p.m.
This hearing will be conducted in person and online. To attend in person, please arrive at the Red Rocks conference room on the 5th floor of the Department of State’s office at 1700 Broadway, Denver, CO 80290, accessible by elevator from the building’s lobby level. The preliminary draft of proposed rules has changed. A copy of the revised draft rules is available to review, here. A copy of the revised draft statement of basis is available to review, here. We recommend you indicate in advance if you would like to testify at the hearing. For efficiency’s sake, public comment testimony may be time limited.
All members of the public are free to submit written comments regarding the proposed draft rules at any time prior to and during the hearing. An additional opportunity to submit written comments after the hearing will be announced before the closing of the hearing. All written comments received during the comment period become part of the official rulemaking record and are posted online. We will redact apparent personal identifiable information, non-governmental email addresses, and cellular telephone numbers from submissions before posting, unless otherwise directed by the contributor.
