LONGMONT, CO – [July 15, 2025] – CommonSpirit Longmont United Hospital and Longmont Food Rescue are excited to once again partner together to host free Summer Produce Pop-Ups, providing fresh, locally sourced produce to the community. Starting this month, these pop-ups will take place every third Friday of the summer (July 18, August 15, and September 19), from 5:30 PM to 6:30 PM in the Longmont United Hospital parking lot.

Thanks to the generous support of UpRoot Colorado, the Summer Produce Pop-Ups will offer a variety of seasonal fruits and vegetables from local growers, ensuring access to healthy and nutritious food for Longmont residents.

“Longmont United Hospital is committed to the health and well-being of our community, which extends beyond the walls of our hospital,” said Debra Mohesky, President of Longmont United Hospital. “Our mission is to improve the health of the people we serve, especially those who are vulnerable and we are proud that this annual initiative allows us to provide access to fresh, local produce, helping to promote healthy eating habits and combat food insecurity.”

The distributions will be held in the Longmont United Hospital parking lot, accessible from either Mountain View Ave or Stuart St. Vehicles and bicycles will form a line for distribution, and walk-ups are also welcome. There are no forms to fill out or questions asked.

“Food and nutrition are essential to the overall health, well-being and wholeness of our patients and communities,” said Dr. Antony Pearson, Chief Medical Officer at Longmont United Hospital. “We are incredibly proud to work with local partners to fight against hunger through these yearly produce pop-ups. It is a prime example of the kind of community Longmont is and what our residents are willing to do to help one another.”

To ensure equitable access, food will be distributed based on the number of people being fed in each household. Distribution will continue as long as supplies last. The community is invited to participate in the effort to combat food insecurity and are welcome to bring home goods to share or volunteer to help create bags for distribution on July 18th.
