The 12,613-acre Oil Springs Fire south of Rangely is 58% contained and fire crews are hopeful that wet weather in the area will help get full containment by July 3.

Isolated to scattered showers and thunderstorms are forecast for Wednesday night. Temperatures will again peak in the 70s to around 80 on Wednesday, with relative humidity values dropping between 25-to35%, according to the Bureau of Land Management.

The cooler, wet weather translates to little or no growth in the fire on Wednesday, the BLM said.

The 4,093-acre Muddy Slide Fire west of Kremmling is 21% contained. A surge of additional resources, including three hotshot crews and a wildfire suppression team will be assisting firefighting operations for the next few days, according to the National Forest Service.

Two dozers, a masticator, and logging equipment will continue to be used to improve fire lines along the power line corridor, the Forest Service said. Stage 2 fire restrictions continue to be in effect in Routt County.

The Sylvan Fire south of Eagle is 44% contained and has burned 3,792 acres, according to the U.S. Forest Service. Fire crews should expect to see scattered showers and thunderstorms in the area on Wednesday while temperatures are expected to rise slightly on Thursday.
