The Boulder County Coroner’s Office is investigating a man’s death after he was found in his vehicle on Saturday in Longmont.

According to Longmont police, an officer was patrolling near 110 S. Martin St. when the officer observed a security gate to a Longmont City Service Center, the CNG Fueling Center, was either open or missing.

Officers then discovered a vehicle with a deceased man inside. The coroner’s office identified that man as Thomas Espinosa, 47, on Tuesday.

An examination has been completed, and the cause and manner of death are pending further investigation, the coroner’s office said.

Longmont police said they are waiting on the coroner’s report, but that it does not appear at this time that the death was caused by the vehicle going through the gate. Police do not believe the death is suspicious.
