Doing Democracy Day, or DDD, events will resume this year and is in need of local leaders to volunteer.

DDD is a “multi-community, multi-school event devoted to students wrestling with local issues, using local leaders as live resources,” a news release from the event coordinators states.

The event will return to the Longmont Museum on March 30.

In order for students to get the most out of their experience, DDD organizers are asking local leaders, educators, public servants and community leaders from St. Vrain communities to share their experiences and opinions with students.

The topics of this year’s DDD are homelessness, screen addiction, fentanyl, social-emotional learning, recreation and school safety/resource officers.
