Beginning Friday, June 10, households that registered at the Disaster Assistance Center (DAC) following the event on Dec. 30, 2021 should expect calls to begin the recovery navigation service.

The Recovery Navigation Program is a joint funding partnership between Boulder County and the Community Foundation of Boulder County to support residents impacted by the Marshall Fire and Straight-Line Wind event. Lutheran Family Services Rocky Mountains (LFS) was selected to administer the program by assisting impacted residents with the necessary and difficult work of recovering from this disaster.

Phase 1 of the program involves the Mile-High United Way 211 Help Center, a subcontractor of LFS, performing outreach calls (starting June 10th) to households that registered at the DAC to connect families with initial information, provide local recovery resource information and identify families that are interested in navigation services.  Households that did not sign up at the DAC will be able to contact the Recovery Navigators directly, sometime in July.

In the coming weeks, Recovery Navigators will be available in person and virtually to provide long-term recovery assistance. Navigators will work side by side with families through the process to provide referrals, recovery plans, financial support, building materials and any additional resources needed. Examples can include connecting a family to important mental health services or government support programs, assisting with applications to receive rebates or other funding to offset the costs of rebuilding, or making referrals to expert legal or insurance advisors.

LFS is still hiring for these important positions. Anyone interested in becoming a Recovery Navigator and helping support Marshall Fire and Straight-Line Wind event can find the application link here: https://lfsrm.applicantpro.com/jobs/

Look for an announcement and website launch in the next few weeks with details on how to connect with a Recovery Navigator.
