Three fires were reported yesterday in Boulder County.
The first was reported in the Twin Lakes area in Gunbarrel around 1:12 p.m. Tuesday. The fire burned around 10 acres but included no structure loss or injuries. The fire is estimated to have caused $5,000 to $10,000 in damages.
According to a news release from Boulder County OEM, the fire was under control quickly and the cause was identified, although not announced to the public. A woman was arrested as a suspect in the start of the fire.
A second fire broke out in the area of Flagstaff Road and Bison Drive around 4:30 p.m. Tuesday. Officials named the fire Bear Peak fire.
The Bear Peak fire containment was around 30% yesterday with no reports of structures threatened. The fire burned approximately 1/4 of an acre. The fire has not had any forward movement, the Boulder County Sheriff's Office reported in a news release.
Reported an hour after the Bear Peak fire, a small wildfire began west of Hygiene in the area of the 8000 block of N. 41st Street.
The fire was accidentally started by a contractor working in the area, the Boulder County Sheriff's Office reported in a news release. The fire burned four acres but was quickly contained by fire crews, extinguishing it within 20 minutes of arrival.
One structure, a loafing shed valued at $1,000, was lost to the fire.
