City Manager Harold Dominguez has appointed Jenn Ooton as Assistant City Manager for the City of Longmont. Ooton brings 15 years of comprehensive experience in local government, having most recently served as Senior Project Manager at the City of Aspen, where she was part of the 10-member senior leadership team.
Jenn's extensive background in municipal leadership, combined with her proven track record in community engagement and complex problem-solving, makes her an ideal addition to our leadership team,” said Dominguez. “Her experience leading transformational infrastructure projects and her commitment to inclusive governance align perfectly with Longmont's values and strategic priorities.”
Ooton has built a distinguished career in public service, with expertise in affordable housing policy, resiliency, and legislative policy. She has held leadership positions at the City of Aspen and City of Glenwood Springs, where she served as Assistant City Manager, overseeing economic and community development. She began her career in journalism, working as a reporter and later as the Editorial Page Editor at the Longmont Times-Call, which provided her with a deep insight into local government operations and community concerns.

Ooton holds a Master of Public Administration from the University of Colorado Denver and a Bachelor of Science in Journalism from the University of Colorado Boulder. She has completed advanced leadership training through the Leading EDGE program and remains actively involved in professional organizations. She recently completed five years of service on the Board of Directors for the Colorado City and County Management Association and continues to serve on CCCMA committees. Ooton was recently named to serve on the International City/County Management Association Conference Education Committee.

In her new role, Ooton will work closely with City Manager Dominguez and other senior staff to support the City Council's strategic vision and ensure effective delivery of municipal services to Longmont's growing community.
Ooton has deep roots in the region, having lived and worked in multiple communities along the Front Range. She is particularly passionate about building resilient communities through innovative governance approaches and sustainable development practices.
The appointment is effective August 25, 2025.
