Our next Landlord Training Alliance meeting is tomorrow, Wednesday, April 10th from 6:30-8:00 pm at the Longmont Senior Center (910 Longs Peak Ave).
Meghan Pfansteil, Government Affairs Coordinator for the Boulder Area Rental Housing Association, will present an update on the 2019 state legislative session. This session has been extraordinarily active in terms of landlord/tenant bills. Some have been surprised at how controversial these proposed bills have been, including bills on rent control, the use of application fees, modification to the Warranty of Habitability, the establishment of a legal defense fund for tenants, and extending the three-day notice to up to 14 days. Please join us for this important session.
This meeting is free, open to all, and qualifies as 2 continuing education credits for realtors.
The following RENT CONTROL bill (SB19-225) was introduced on April 1st:

The bill authorizes local governments to enact and enforce any ordinance, resolution, agreement, deed restriction, or other measures that would stabilize rentfollowingonprivateresidential property. If passed, it will take effect September 1, 2019. Read more here.
The RENT CONTROL bill has officially been assigned a number (SB19-225) and sent toSenate Committee (State, Veterans, & Military Affairs).
