Sustainable Resilient Longmont is putting the focus on electric energy by hosting an event featuring speakers centered on home and vehicle electrification.
Residents who are intrigued by making the switch are encoraged to attend Electrify Longmont. The free event, organized jointly by Sustainable Resilient Longmont (SRL) and the Longmont Chapter of Citizens’ Climate Lobby, will be held at Longs Peak Middle School on Saturday, September, 30 from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m.
“Our goal is that every attendee leaves our event motivated to take the next step towards reducing their carbon footprint with some sort of home or vehicle electrification project, along with having a plan to do so," Mike Baum of SRL said in a press release.
The event will feature speakers discussing all aspects of home electrification and electric vehicle ownership. The event's keynote speaker will be sustainability pioneer Michael Myers. “Mike Myers has been a Leader in the Green Building industry for over 40 years. He is a visionary in the field,” said Mitzi Nicoletti, Sponsorship Coordinator. Mr. Myers has been a pioneer for sustainability, bringing experience from the Department of Energy, Lockheed Martin, and city programs, to create the nations’ first green building program in the City of Austin."
