One of the most difficult subjects a parent has to broach with a young child is the topic of racism. Trying to explain this systemic form of bullying is a challenge for most parents. The Longmont Library's latest Diversity Storytime, on Saturday, January 26 from 10:30 to 11:30 am, aims to help parents tackle the subjects of race and racism in an age appropriate, honest, and sensitive way. With books designed to prompt conversation and understanding, this special storytime offers parents the opportunity to get the dialogue started. Longmont's local Showing Up for Racial Justice group will help facilitate an interactive activity and conversation after the storytime. This storytime is best for ages five and older, but everyone is welcome. No registration is necessary for this program.
