Councilmember Christensen asked that the council add a resolution to the agenda, as soon as possible, concerning the extension of DACA (Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals).
Christensen said, "it's a problem for our community of people here in our country without papers before the age of 16 have that have no protection." She went on to say, "The damage started 2 weeks ago when no new people could sign up for DACA and to get an extension required coughing up $500 or be deported." She had the resolution in hand but did not read it out loud. Everyone agreed to put it on a future agenda.
A vote was called and the council passed it 6 to 0.
